South Chesapeake Mega Yacht Center is ideally located midway between Fort Lauderdale
and New England in Cape Charles, Virginia. The harbor and channel offer a comfortable 18-foot draft,
and the harbor is just 12 miles from the mouth of the Chesapeake Bay, where
it meets the Atlantic Ocean.
Cape Charles, a quaint and charming town on Virginia’s Eastern Shore, was
founded in 1884 as a railroad and ferry terminal. The town has one of the largest
concentrations of late-Victorian and turn-of-the-century buildings on the East
Coast. It has been designated as a Historic District on the Virginia
Landmarks Register, and is also on the National Register of Historic Places.
For visitors, Cape Charles offers several hotels, restaurants, shops and bed-and-breakfasts.
The town is adjacent to Kiptopeke State Park, a wildlife sanctuary and 540-acre
park, and one of the top 15 hawk observation areas in the U.S.
